The Fine Arts Calendar – A Cultural Utsav

The Society has nearly 2500 members today.

A ceremonial inauguration of the Fine Arts Cultural Centre was performed by His Holiness Jayendra Saraswati Swamigal in the presence of His Holiness Sankara Vijayendra Saraswati Swamigal, way back in 1992. It is now a coincidence that the Foundation Stone Dedication Ceremony of the new F.A.S. Academy of Fine Arts and College of Music and Dance was once again being performed by His Holiness Jayendra Saraswati Swamigal and His Holiness Sankara Vijayendra Saraswati Swamigal.

The Sivaswamy Auditorium was formally inaugurated in 1993 by HE. P.C. Alexander, Governor of Maharashtra and whose corner stone was laid by Shri. Vilasrao Deshmukh, Hon. Chief Minister of Maharashtra.

We believe, the Fine Arts Society fulfills a much needed community services, helping people to reorient and refocus on our traditions, rich heritage and culture, thus enriching the quality of life.

Every month of the year, sometimes more often, the Society organises a programme of music, dance or drama by renowned artistes free for the members. The Society also actively encourages budding artistes and the not so-well-known artistes by giving them a platform under its’ Talent Promotion and Talent Recognition Programmes.
